My characters were twice as cocky, but I managed to come through on it 95% of the time... One DM I had still shudders whenever I mention the words "Poisoned Caltrops" :)

Though, that same DM did hand me my backside after I lipped off to a high level fighter... He was naked! I figured I could hit him! Kicked my butt sooo hard. With no weapons!!
