Yes, Zarcazz and Floon have had enough, so it's time for action. Here the Beholder Tyrant emerges from one of the tunnels, surrounded by nightmares and the stench of insanity. Obviously that is no spell of Zarcazz (a Beholder would have to remove his central eye to cast spells), it's just some sort of effect around him, which is supposed to soften up the defenses of the town-guard, which probably hasn't even woken up yet.
Is Floon sad that Silkaria and Lucren are no more? Probably not. Those two were probably going to meet with unfortunate accidents after the campaign anyways... Floon doesn't like sharing power. Zarcazz however is a bit too strong and a bit too valuable for that. Plus he has the keys to the Van.
So, how will Lysette, having escaped the initial onslaught of the powerful Tyrant, save the group from certain doom?
Yeah, you guessed right... it's probably something stupid.
I will be using the next few Sundays for RoF as well, otherwise this story will take too long and there still are quite a few pages to go.
I didn't really have the rulebook in mind when I made the beams, but I think Val got hit with some sort of Frost-beam, Kaylan seems to be getting a fistfull of poison and Gareth got hit with negative energy, or Necrotic, as it's known now.
Lysette... well, she evaded it, so let's just say she dodged the dreaded ray of disintegration... you know, the one that makes resurrection almost impossible.
Yeah, I admit I am not superclear myself on what that is supposed to be. Zarcazz is a master of nightmarish madness, so all the horrible thoughts the characters have in their heads coagulate into this inky cloud of utter horror... it's not a real entity, but it's a strong psychological effect.
Hmm, what do you know? I did have a plan for this.
