Unfortunately, as a DM sometimes the buildup / crisis is a lot more fun to think about, and the aftermath gets little if any thought put into it... I'd probably have tied it into the mask, if it were me running it ;) AFTER I asked if he had the Swimming skill, of course.. And he's an elf, so I would have almost felt obliged to ask him how he thought he'd do on the Con checks ;)

Hey, that's nothing. Once I had a DM end a campaign with "it was all just a dream." Talk about a cop out!

Well, not like I can do anything BUT awesome.
As for the animation, there really isn't anymore to it than moving layers around pixel by pixel in Photoshop... lightning is nothing but 3 different graphics being interchanged from frame to frame...
In many ways it's a very simple form of stop-motion.

Awesome!!! Damn right you can only do awesome and thanks for the tips! Do you recommend some software or websites on flash animation and gifs? Cause i still don't know how to work layers in photoshop. I mean, i know they're there... lookin' at me... waiting on me to use them like an outdated beige dildo, but i'm still oblivious... or lazy. Like once you have all the layer work done, what do you use to make it switch from frame to frame so it moves?

There is an animation-panel you can open up... basically what you do, once all your layers are done, is to arrange them the way you like them, take a snapshot in the animation panel, move the layers, snapshot the panel and so on.
Mind you, this is by no means perfect. At all.
If you have any talent for Flash, I would say use that... I am still in the process of not rolling up into fetal-position whenever I start it up.

Cool, thanks! That's actually good to know. I'll give it a shot and see how it goes. But i know fuck all about flash. I wonder if there's a "Flash Animation for Dummies" book. They helped me alot on how to have sex in the past.
